It took six tries to activate it but is working now.

  • Diverted a potential dog disaster

A non dog but dog owner person I know told me that he wanted a new dog and had seen a Neapolitan Mastiff at Petland.

That is so wrong on so many levels bit he also told me that he wanted a beagle.

I told him that even if he went to a dog show and met a breeder he wasn't going to be happy with the dog. He already has an English bulldog that he loves bit it can't do active male in his 20s things like Frisbee and running. We're in Texas. It ain't happening
    with the Mastiff either.

"but I want to save a life".

Well fortunately I talked him I into a rescue group and they sent him home with a 4 month old beagle.

Since the beagle girls did well in an apartment hoping this will work out.

And I am already providing training support.

  • Macy is an Excellent Beagle!

Well, I always thought that, but we’ll be competing in Excellent in January.

Macy had an really good weekend.  She Qed in Novice Fast Preferred (1 leg), Open JWW Preferred (1 leg) and finished her Open Standard Preferred Title, all with 1st places.  Also double Qing in Open today.

Small disappointment, club gave coupons for 1st place and didn’t have any 1st place Rosettes.  I was going to pass on having them mail the Novice fast, but after going home without and not having a Rosette for Open JWW, I’ve asked them to mail them.  I fully don’t expect them to get mailed, I’ve been promised Rosettes before and didn’t get them.

January will be very weird, with dogs in Novice, Open and Excellent, but only two dogs.

She is now Tesoro’s Herald Square, NA, NAJ, NF, NJP, OAP, TBAD

  • Dentex Saturday

Macy and I had three very different runs.

The first is why we run agility. She did everything I asked, ran reasonably fast and we Qed.

Second run, no matter what I did she just didn't get it.

Third run, she tried really hard, missed the last pole and was as slow as molasses.

    Interesting.

  • We did have more fun

So, the change in plan was to bring the girls in.

We found a small space so the girls would be able see most of the time.

As a result, I got to visit with friends.

I also discovered in Friday, that Dulce wasn't as brave as I thought so took her around to get socialized, few people can resist a small, cute beagle.

We had a good time in FAST with both girls getting the send, not not Qing, 28 points for Dulce and 23 for Macy.

We needed 50. Oh, and it two tries to get the send.

Then the blue norther hit, hit knocked my knee. I am fine sitting or standing but not walking, and forget running.

Karen Ertz tried to run JWW with Macy but that didn't work out, neither did my trying Standard. Another friend wanted to try, but she has never run her.

I did JWW with Dulce but it didn't go well but she did get the weaves and stayed with me.

I am staying home if the knee isn't better in the morning.

  • Both girls got their sends in FAST

It took both of them two tries but they got it. No Q as we ran out of time.

Gene Downing is a kind judge, moving Dulce to the front of the 16s plus he let her run after she headed out of the ring but came back.

  • DAWG – 11/20/11 – 1 Q

Novice Fast – she tried hard but I keep pushing too hard and she missed the send.

    Open Standard

Only one weave bobble. But the judge also called Refusal and I can't figure out where that happened.

Thinking about it, I think the second refusal came from lining her up at the weaves.

    Got her teeter!

    Open JWW

nailed it with 10 time faults. Definitely will take it.

First run, didn't want to be here, and each run got progressively better over the weekend.

    Novice FAST

Just wasn't into agility this run, even though she wanted cookies.

    Open JWW
Wasn't into this run either. Lost her twice.

    Open Standard
Macy went around jump 2, for one refusal and went into the third pile of the weaves for the second. Wasn't slow and not paying attention – best run of the day.
