  • Introducing Lima

To begin with, let me start with Lola. She was never supposed to stay with me. She was originally with me for a few months but life happened.

Maybe because of that, we didn’t have a great relationship. While her attitude in the show ring was okay and would have been fine for almost every other breed, she rarely had her tail up for me.

Beginning June, I took her to Colorado and showed with her breeder and her tail was up all six shows. Back in Dallas, it wasn’t up and it was stressing me out. Tried again in Longview and I took the weekend as a joke.

No tail but she got a three point major on Sunday.

Called her breeder to brag and she said it was time to swap dogs. I just happened to be free this weekend so we did. I am on the way home from Denver.

And Lima was too young to go to Texas the first of June.

  • Teeter Breakthrough

We went to @dogcitytraining Center tonight, expecting to do an agility class (I wasn't the only one), but instead spent the time working on bang-it.

Macy has a teeter phobia, too much noise, and isn't a lot of fun for her, sadly.  We've been working on a game called bang-in and we had a major breakthrough tonight.

Basically with bang it, you're trying to get the dog to control the teeter.  You start with them touching the teeter, and you eventually get them to bang it on the ground.

I had it level, and she was pulling it down and standing on it.  I also got her to do the teeter completely by herself, and with me on her side, so we made some great progress!

We'll be working hard on it during winter break.
