{"id":319,"date":"2010-06-12T15:11:43","date_gmt":"2010-06-12T15:11:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/beagles\/maggie-the-end\/"},"modified":"2010-06-12T15:11:43","modified_gmt":"2010-06-12T15:11:43","slug":"maggie-the-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/beagles\/maggie-the-end\/","title":{"rendered":"Maggie = the end?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I think we\u2019re going to finally put her down.&#160; I\u2019ve wanted to for a LONG time, but my husband wasn\u2019t ready to.<\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s a rescue beagle and she\u2019s nuts.&#160;&#160;&#160; We\u2019ve given her a good home, she\u2019s been an okay agility dog and gotten better as life has gone on, but she\u2019s got some real problems still.<\/p>\n<p>Her worse is screaming, especially around storms.&#160; It\u2019s June storm season and she\u2019s bad this year.&#160; This morning she screamed in her crate, screamed in the back yard and wouldn\u2019t stop screaming until I let her in the house.&#160; However, I can\u2019t leave her loose in the house because she will tear it up, or at the very least eliminate on the floor.<\/p>\n<p>I stopped working with her last fall.&#160; She is currently around 12 years old and at the time we were going through thunderstorms so left her home.&#160; It was SO nice not to have to deal with her screaming, tearing at crates and generally being a pain, that I decided to stop working with her and concentrate on Macy.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what I\u2019ve said for years, if you had a dog that was in as much physical pain and anguish as this dog is mentally, wouldn\u2019t you put it down?&#160; My husband ignores it most of the time and doesn\u2019t see how much anguish she is in.&#160; Today he faced it \u2013 face first.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think we\u2019re going to finally put her down.&#160; I\u2019ve wanted to for a LONG time, but my husband wasn\u2019t ready to.
