{"id":1253,"date":"2006-11-26T06:07:49","date_gmt":"2006-11-26T06:07:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/cs\/hp-computer-pro\/"},"modified":"2006-11-26T06:07:49","modified_gmt":"2006-11-26T06:07:49","slug":"hp-computer-pro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/cs\/hp-computer-pro\/","title":{"rendered":"HP Computer Problems finally solved!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Several months ago, shortly after I started this blog, I had an HP Pavalion 521n die.&nbsp; I really liked the machine, but I started seeing an potential hard drive failure.<\/p>\n<p>I tried replacing the hard drive, even ordered the orginal disks from HP and EVEN asked their tech support, but no one could give me a reason as to why the computer wouldn&#8217;t boot.<\/p>\n<p>Well I had an even older motherboard\/computer finally fail, something I&#8217;ve been expecting for a long time, pulled the components out of it I wanted to keep, mainly the hard drive, CD-Writer, and the DVD-Writer.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>I decided to throw the working, bootable hard drive in the HP.&nbsp; It booted!&nbsp; So I finally pulled the original hard drive and I figured out why it wouldn&#8217;t work.&nbsp; It&#8217;s set up cable select for the slave\/master drive.&nbsp; I haven&#8217;t seen that in years!&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>So it&#8217;s up and working.<\/p>\n<p>I am thinking about trading the DVD-drive for the DVD writer.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>I no longer feel quite the failure!&nbsp; And hopefully this information will help the next guy.<\/p>\n<p>And why didn&#8217;t HP Tech Support tell me that!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several months ago, shortly after I started this blog, I had an HP Pavalion 521n die.&nbsp; I really liked the machine, but I started seeing an potential hard drive failure.
