{"id":386,"date":"2012-03-25T11:58:58","date_gmt":"2012-03-25T11:58:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/cs\/teaching-when-recording\/"},"modified":"2012-03-25T11:58:58","modified_gmt":"2012-03-25T11:58:58","slug":"teaching-when-recording","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/cs\/teaching-when-recording\/","title":{"rendered":"Teaching when recording"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently spent some time in a classroom while teachers were teaching with a recording system.&#160; I\u2019m hoping the recording system changed the way they taught, but I tried not to the same.<\/p>\n<p>I can\u2019t fault one teacher, as he was in a classroom by himself, with no students to interact with.&#160; However, he spoke too fast, faster than I can even think for the first half, but did slow down, later which helped.&#160; He still didn\u2019t give the audience much reflection time.<\/p>\n<p>The other two teachers did have students in the classroom, but didn\u2019t interact with their audience much at all.&#160; <\/p>\n<p>I know that the situation DID change my behavior some, as I didn\u2019t call on students, and only took volunteers.&#160; I think part of the reason was that I didn\u2019t KNOW the students, so I didn\u2019t know who to call on, and I didn\u2019t take time to get to know them during the class.<\/p>\n<p>I know if I am specifically demonstrating and recording something that is very short, I don\u2019t take the time to interact with the class until we\u2019re done recording.<\/p>\n<p>Something to think about.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently spent some time in a classroom while teachers were teaching with a recording system.&#160; I\u2019m hoping the recording system changed the way they taught, but I tried not to the same.
