{"id":646,"date":"2010-06-07T07:55:34","date_gmt":"2010-06-07T07:55:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/cs\/kagan-training\/"},"modified":"2010-06-07T07:55:34","modified_gmt":"2010-06-07T07:55:34","slug":"kagan-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/cs\/kagan-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Kagan Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was interesting.&#160; The workshop was too focused on elementary \u2013 I wasn\u2019t the only one that felt that way \u2013 and not enough on high school.<\/p>\n<p>I need to sit down and look at the materials, as there is some things at the beginning of the year where doing some group work might be good.<\/p>\n<p>Basically Kagan is very structured group work, getting kids to discuss things and work together.&#160; Since I tend to do the opposite in computer science \u2013 have the students work independently and give them more work than they can accomplish, Kagan isn\u2019t as useful as it could be.<\/p>\n<p>However, it was interesting.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and their software was amusing.&#160; Several things weren\u2019t set up well, and she said \u2013 well just run it this way \u2013 and I couldn\u2019t help myself, I had to comment loudly, well, why couldn\u2019t they just write the program right.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was interesting.&#160; The workshop was too focused on elementary \u2013 I wasn\u2019t the only one that felt that way \u2013 and not enough on high school.
