{"id":739,"date":"2010-02-06T10:31:57","date_gmt":"2010-02-06T10:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/cs\/only-one-bad-class-right-now\/"},"modified":"2010-02-06T10:31:57","modified_gmt":"2010-02-06T10:31:57","slug":"only-one-bad-class-right-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/cs\/only-one-bad-class-right-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Only one bad class right now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s the last period of the day.<\/p>\n<p>So here\u2019s how my day goes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st Period \u2013 CS<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Super kids.&#160; Quit a few come early.&#160; A couple of them have families with chronic time problems.&#160; They come in, sit down, participate in demonstrations and most get their work done.&#160; Those who don\u2019t do it quietly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>2nd Period \u2013 Math Study Skills<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Do Texas Web Tutor \u2013 small class \u2013 quiet but does do some off task talking and surfing.&#160; Everyone gets something done.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>3rd Period \u2013 PAWS (Study Hall)<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Seniors \u2013 have figured out the rules in days, quiet roar, hey, they have figured out how to come to school every day and get things done.&#160; Most are passing, most of their classes.&#160; No one \u201cfailing\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>4rd Period \u2013 Tech Support<\/li>\n<li>5th Period \u2013 Lunch<\/li>\n<li>6th Period \u2013 PreAP \u2013 Doing XNA<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Awesome<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>7th Period \u2013 Math Study Skills<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Finally got them to understand the rules, oddly losing a couple of kids who weren\u2019t discipline problems nor regular attendees helped.&#160; They were kids not passing the TAKS who just did and are now in Reconnect trying to get credits.&#160; One has come back for help but during PAWS, not this class.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>8th Period \u2013 Math Study Skills<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Driving me nuts!<\/li>\n<li>MP3 player stolen in this class the day before Winter Break<\/li>\n<li>Have had to start sending people out and rearranging students.<\/li>\n<li>Called 6 parents during class yesterday.<\/li>\n<li>One kid had his phone out, was ignoring me, I took it put it in desk drawer and it disappeared later in the class period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I haven\u2019t had a class so radically bad in years and so dramatically different.&#160; Starting Monday, I\u2019m going to ask a different administrator a day to attend.<\/p>\n<p>ARGH!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s the last period of the day.
