{"id":760,"date":"2010-01-03T13:05:58","date_gmt":"2010-01-03T13:05:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/cs\/windows-home-server-whs-comes-to-the-rescue-again\/"},"modified":"2010-01-03T13:05:58","modified_gmt":"2010-01-03T13:05:58","slug":"windows-home-server-whs-comes-to-the-rescue-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/cs\/windows-home-server-whs-comes-to-the-rescue-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Windows Home Server (WHS) Comes to the Rescue again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I bought a cheap Seagate 500 gig external drive during their 12 days of Christmas sale.&#0160; Unfortunately it was very cheap, as it apparerently failed.<\/p>\n<p>I was getting weird WHS server messages about files not being where they were supposed to be and I really didn&#39;t understand them (thus, they haven&#39;t stuck in my brain).<\/p>\n<p>I decided to try rebooting the WHS and all of the external drives, included the new Seagate one.&#0160; It wasn&#39;t having anything of it, and didn&#39;t boot back up.&#0160; It was obviously the culprit, and I&#39;ve tried hooking it up to one of the Windows 7 machine and it still isn&#39;t talking to me.<\/p>\n<p>So I removed the drive, ran the backup repair utility and everything is happy again.&#0160; At the same time, I&#39;ve purchased a Verbatium 1 terabyte extra drive and have it attached to the WHS.<\/p>\n<p>I love my WHS!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kweaver.org\/.a\/6a00e54eea8ed988340120a79eb5e8970b-pi\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"2010-01-03_1306\" border=\"0\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54eea8ed988340120a79eb5e8970b image-full \" src=\"http:\/\/www.kweaver.org\/.a\/6a00e54eea8ed988340120a79eb5e8970b-800wi\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN-LEFT: auto; MARGIN-RIGHT: auto\" title=\"2010-01-03_1306\" \/><\/a>  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I bought a cheap Seagate 500 gig external drive during their 12 days of Christmas sale.&#0160; Unfortunately it was very cheap, as it apparerently failed.
