  • My Fit Foods continued

Working out pretty good.  So far, the food is much easier to eat than our old service.  Rich isn’t objecting to things, which is also good.

Biggest problem today is that I waited too long to eat and ended up eating too much, and something that wasn’t My Fit Foods.

  • My Fit Foods

We have been using Diet Gourmet for years.  Liked them.  However, they have been bought out and the new pick up hours don’t work for us.

How they did that was pretty weird, they sent out an email about 10:00 am telling us the pickup place had changed.  My husband took it to mean that the pickup had changed that day, which didn’t make sense to us – what about the people who already tried  to pick up?

The new people were rude to him and since I have been driving by My Fit Foods, I didn’t to scope them out.  Also picked up food from them on Thursday.

So far, I really like their business model, they are very low pressure.

I met with their nutritionist today, and had her set up our menus.

So far their food has been good, and I actually that my blood sugar may be smoother.

Their hours are great!  7 days a week and open from 7:00 am during the week and as late at 9:00 pm most evenings.  It’s on the way home from school for me, and about a mile out of Rich’s way.

  • Blog Anniversary

My blog anniversary is coming up.  9 years.

  • Fitbit

In my never ending quest in figuring out how to get things right, I bought a Fitbit.  I’ve worn pedometers before, but they were bulky.  Once you put the world’s largest Windows phone and an insulin pump, a pedometer seems overkill.

Not the fitbit though, it’s pretty small, and I can clip it on my bra and doesn’t seem “in the way”.

The website works well, and it also works well with MyFitnessPal.  If it had a better interface with the Windows phone, I would switch to Fitbit for all my logging, but the two sites work well.  I’m also have things linked with Endomoto but haven’t tried it.

Might try Endomoto today if I can’t find a good parking space.

FYI, I’m trying a new knee doctor on Monday.

Love that description . They published an article I wrote.

  • Glad my primary care physician and I fired each other

    Found out two interesting things:

The weight loss surgery outfit he recommended and I used went out of business.

He cancelled all the prescriptions he wrote for me and they can’t be refilled.

    Nice.

  • Cortisone Shot

    I survived it.

Learned some things. What happened last time will not predict this time.

Don’t run too much basal at night.

Okay, here’s what happened.  Got the shot on Monday morning, was running high Monday and Tuesday but staying close to it.  Wednesday morning got up, went to work, and tested about 10:00 am and was at 95.  Treated it, ate lunch early, and not budging so I got a “babysitter”.  Was still in the classroom and functioning, but since we have extra people in the building thought I would get an adult to sit with me and make sure I got through it (school nurse agreed).

Was fine, but it took a lot of food to keep it there.

Learned some things about the shot too.  It doesn’t counteract barometric pressure or overuse but does make the recovery go faster.

Now if Medco would just ship me my Celebrex. Apparently waiting on a form from my doctor.

  • Steriod Shot–Blood Sugar High

I did around 100% temp basal all day yesterday but it did get ahead of me in the evening.  Did massive corrections.  Went to bed with a 50% temp, and woke up in the 250’s.  I was comfortable sleeping with more insulin on board that I had.

I’m back up to 100% basal for the day and massive corrections.  It is going down, but still in the 200’s.

Knee is twitching at all and we have storms brewing.

  • Knee Update and need help with Steriod shot

The orthopedist I’ve seen that I liked the best retired in December, and I saw his partner today.  He says I definitely need a knee replacement.

He didn’t like the knee fluid replacement option and liked the cortisone shot option – told me that I could have 3 a year, and did I want one now.  Since my knee was acting up last weekend, I was there, and he gave me the option, I said yes.

Thus I am dealing with elevated blood sugars – I am on 100% basal for the next three hours and checking every two.

    Anyone have any good ideas?
