  • Life back to normal?

Though define normal and find 3 people who fit that.

The robot obsession is over (though the kids want to compete again in two weeks, and I’m in the process of researching it.

Checked my weight and it isn’t as bad as I thought.

My goal is to get to the gym for 20 minutes every day for the next week.

Plus I’m seeing a new surgeon that works with TLC Edge on Wednesday and having my band checked and maybe adjusted.

  • Where have I been

    Buried in work.

    Seriously.

Started with the storms in February that shut Dallas for 5 days total.  I was in Austin that second week for TCEA (Texas Computer Education Association).

I signed up for and received a grant so that I could get kids involved in Robotics.  We are competing April 16 in a First FTC Competition, and we’re doing really well.  I still can’t tell you who is exactly on the team, but we’ll figure that out.

My A1C sucks, my blood sugar control sucks, and I’m gaining weight.  I am going to fix all that after April 16th.

  • Last Spring Break workout

Today I am doing my last spring break workout which have been 30 minutes of stationary bike, weights (gave myself one off day) and 15 minutes of water walking.

That means I can probably skip two weight days. I am dreading mornings right now as my blood sugar has been completely screwed and it is hard to wake up.

I woke up at 7:30 and went right back to bed and slept until 10:00.

The good news is that hopefully I will gave everything packed and ready to go for the morning by the time Dulce and I go to agility class.

  • Spring Break and the Gym thing

I have been on Spring Break and it has been good. Not sure why but the last weeks were hard.

Haven't been sleeping well, haven't been waking up and haven't been on a routine as a result.

To be honest I haven't been on a routine thus week, but have been consistent about getting to the gym and consistent on working out. 30 minutes of cardio, either upper body weights or lower body, followed by 15 minutes of pool walking and then relaxing in their hot tub and the sauna.

Gotten lots of maintenance done, saw gastro doctor, A/C checked, sprinklers serviced post winter. Stuff I just don't get dealt with during school days – or just stuff that is hard to do. Don't know why husband doesn't do them.

Almost recharged and ready to finish out the year.

  • On My Mind: Bedbugs! | Karen Pryor Clickertraining

You could make a mint. Provided you don’t mind having your own bedbugs.

    via www.clickertraining.com

Karen brings up the points I always bring up when discussing diabetic alert dogs:

    a) Finding honest people in the business
    b) Correct alerts (alerting only when the cue is present).
    c) Having to duplicate the conditions for training.

I'll stick to my meter and let someone else get in the bed bug business. Bring back DDT!

  • Blog Anniversary

Feb 28th was my 8th year blog anniversary.  I think.  I'm terrible at time math.  I have to constantly recalculate when I can retire … let's see, add age and years of service, subtract from 80 and divide by two.

I know I haven't been blogging much.  That tells you that I am ignoring diabetes and any other health issues as much as I can.

  • Service?

I am paying $145 month for an online personal trainer – for that amount don’t you expect new workouts with out having to request them?

I had a trainer who came to the house and gave better service for about that.

  • Zune problem

I have music – specifically Lisa Marie Presley’s “To Whom It May Concern”, that will load to my Zune HDs but won’t load to my Window’s Phone 7.  The tracks are Sinking In and Important

I have other pieces, but it think this one is most representative.

I have tried specifically Syncing those tracks, and I have tried the reset tool and the missing tracks are still on the Zune HD but not on the Window’s Phone 7

  • Solving the food problem

Got another Diet Gourmet meal that looked edible, but couldn’t.  Realized very quickly it wasn’t going to work, so put it aside, threw a baked potato in the microwave, nuked it, and mashed it with the problem meal.

Problem meal solved, went down okay with the potato (and some additional condiments).  Yes, extra calories, but didn’t put me in the – can’t eat regular food, will eat mushies next three days mindset.

Learning not to eat too much of the greens in a salad, and doing better.

Oh, and best yet – the caterer at the dog agility trial nuked my breakfast (belgium waffles with blueberries), and was able to eat it with some pacing at 9:30 (considering I got up at 5:00, it is the middle of the day).
