{"id":342,"date":"2015-07-04T13:15:51","date_gmt":"2015-07-04T13:15:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/diabetes\/omg-i-am-so-tired\/"},"modified":"2015-07-04T13:15:51","modified_gmt":"2015-07-04T13:15:51","slug":"omg-i-am-so-tired","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/diabetes\/omg-i-am-so-tired\/","title":{"rendered":"OMG, I am so tired"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Off to go to sleep for a few hours but wanted to let everyone know that my blood sugar has been staying between 120 and 180 so it&#39;s just about perfect.<\/p>\n<p>The part I really dislike about not having the pump is the math.&#0160; It&#39;s funny, because when I checked groceries, I couldn&#39;t help it but add the numbers up in my head.&#0160; But this is, if you don&#39;t do it right you could die, or at the very least feel miserable for hours.&#0160; So I second guess everyone.&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Plus I&#39;m out of practice.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, I have a confession to make, and I don&#39;t know if other diabetes alert dogs work this way or not.&#0160; It&#39;s not so much that Dulce has a physical alert &#8212; I have tried to teach one but she doesn&#39;t work that way.&#0160; It&#39;s more that, she gets very hyper when my blood sugar is high, and very calm when it&#39;s right.&#0160; She does get very scared when it gets low.&#0160; So using her is more like having a very accurate continuous blood sugar monitor that doesn&#39;t have to be calibrated or have numbers.&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>A couple of people at Planet Fitness have noticed, and they have been able to predict when I am going to leave.&#0160; It&#39;s actually MUCH better than alerts, but it takes&#0160;a very talented dog listenering for it to work.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Off to go to sleep for a few hours but wanted to let everyone know that my blood sugar has been staying between 120 and 180 so it&#39;s just about perfect.
