I think what kind of fat and how much does matter and what kind of protein does matter.<\/p>\n<p>I did experiment with Atkins before diabetes &#8212; when I was on Zocor and waiting to stablize on that so we could start the diabetes route.<\/p>\n<p>There was no adverse effect on the cholesterol levels, and no affect either way on the blood sugar.  However, I didn&#8217;t lose much weight that way.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, I try to stay around 100 grams of carbs a day.
