{"id":541,"date":"2013-07-09T11:49:56","date_gmt":"2013-07-09T11:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/diabetes\/summer-traveling\/"},"modified":"2013-07-09T11:49:56","modified_gmt":"2013-07-09T11:49:56","slug":"summer-traveling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/diabetes\/summer-traveling\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Traveling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Famous last words:  I am not going anywhere this summer after all unless you count a day trip to Norman Oklahoma and a day trip to Glen Rose.\n<\/p>\n<p>This was to my counselor last night.\n<\/p>\n<p>I was a bit bummed, because I had decided not to do two trips:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>UT Austin CS First Bytes \u2013 this week\n<\/li>\n<li>Air Force Base for my kids\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Partly because of the walking, partly because of the hassle with the service dog and a lot because of my weight (back to the first one).\n<\/p>\n<p>This is the second year I haven&#8217;t been able to do the Robot Mentoring Air Force Base thing \u2013 last year it was because my school district had paid for an AP Computer Science workshop.  And the weight and walking thing.\n<\/p>\n<p>Maybe next year.  Or maybe I won&#8217;t need it.\n<\/p>\n<p>But it all drove me to do the fill, which I&#8217;m glad I did.\n<\/p>\n<p>Oh, haven&#8217;t said what I&#8217;m doing \u2013 one week in Austin on the state textbook committee.  In a Hilton.  They liked her at the Downtown one, so I&#8217;m hoping they like her at this one too.  Hopefully the Wifi works better than the hotel I stayed at did.
