{"id":766,"date":"2011-10-31T11:00:30","date_gmt":"2011-10-31T11:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/diabetes\/scottevest-vest\/"},"modified":"2011-10-31T11:00:30","modified_gmt":"2011-10-31T11:00:30","slug":"scottevest-vest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/diabetes\/scottevest-vest\/","title":{"rendered":"Scottevest Vest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve had the Scottevest T-shirts for a while, and they are fabulous for hiding an insulin pump and even a phone or two.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m going to Portland, Oregon for the Grace Hopper Women in Computing Conference next week, and I have been wanting a Scottevest vest I could actually wear for a while.&#160; I own a woman\u2019s size vest, but can\u2019t wear it, as it is too small.<\/p>\n<p>I ordered a Men\u2019s 2x, and it fits my chest fine, but a bit tight in the hips.&#160; Can wear it open though, and can wear it hiked up an inch zipped.<\/p>\n<p>I have it pretty much loaded with everything I would carry in a go-bag.&#160; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meter, lancing device, and strips.&#160; Using a Accu-check lancing device helps, because 6 lancing devices come in a single cartridge.<\/li>\n<li>Two infusion sets and cartridges.<\/li>\n<li>Insulin and rewetting drops<\/li>\n<li>Money and wallet<\/li>\n<li>2 Zune HD Players (may leave them home)<\/li>\n<li>Headphones laced into headphone management system<\/li>\n<li>Kindle<\/li>\n<li>Extra batteries for the phone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It weighs slightly less than my go-bag, since it is made of nylon fabric but I\u2019ve worn it on three different excursions now, and I find wearing it is easier than carrying a bag.&#160; Added bonus, it eliminates a bag.<\/p>\n<p>I am planning on taking a small carry on bag with extra supplies in it.&#160; My CPAP and it\u2019s emergency battery.&#160; I hope to be able to sleep on the planes since I\u2019ll be traveling quite a while.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve had the Scottevest T-shirts for a while, and they are fabulous for hiding an insulin pump and even a phone or two.
