{"id":901,"date":"2010-09-02T10:19:27","date_gmt":"2010-09-02T10:19:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/diabetes\/assumptions\/"},"modified":"2010-09-02T10:19:27","modified_gmt":"2010-09-02T10:19:27","slug":"assumptions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kweaver.org\/diabetes\/assumptions\/","title":{"rendered":"Assumptions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>People look at me and don\u2019t assume I am physically active.&#160; I don\u2019t blame them, I would probably assume the same.<\/p>\n<p>However, I do dog agility.&#160; The more physically active you are, the better it goes.<\/p>\n<p>I have always liked walking as my favorite physical activity.&#160; At one point, I walked an hour a day on the treadmill before coming to work.&#160; My husband would even tell you I used my treadmill and my gym consistently unless I was really in pain.&#160; <\/p>\n<p>After 5 (at least) medical professionals have told me to switch from walking on the treadmill to walking in the pool or stationary bike, I have a gym membership, and have for several weeks.&#160; I\u2019ve been in the gym every day since I got my membership and have either walked in the pool or been on the stationary bike. <\/p>\n<p>I was up to 25 minutes on Level 1 and I talked with my physical therapist yesterday and he said increase the level to strengthen my knee, and then increase my time.<\/p>\n<p>So today I did 20 minutes on Level 2 and I am going work my way back up to 25 minutes this week.<\/p>\n<p>Going in the morning is tough, as I have to pack everything the night before.&#160; So far, I have forgotten something I could live without each day.&#160; (Hair brush, contacts, etc.) But I\u2019m getting there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>People look at me and don\u2019t assume I am physically active.&#160; I don\u2019t blame them, I would probably assume the same.
