I think my pump is broke (but I think I fixed it).

Spent about 20 minutes in the pool this evening and ever since, the screen keeps blinking at me. I think the up button is somehow stuck.

This is why I keep this blog. As soon as I took a deep breath and typed the above, I remember the first thing Animas always had me do when my IR1000 acted up. They had me take the battery out so it would reboot.

I’ve done that, and it seems better.

I have enough to deal with.

I have also been on Symlin this summer and also teach school. I have a comment about the weight loss slowing down. I found that when I tried to keep the calories/carbs too low that I lost next to nothing. I was trying to keep under 1200 calories and under 120 carbs. When I bumped it up to 1300 – 1350 calories and 13 – 14 carb choices (under 200 carbs) then I began to lose. I found your sight when I was searching to see if Symlin had any kind of rebate. Didn’t find one, but did find a couple of sites like yours. Enjoyed sharing your Symlin experiences!

If he/she can’t find the vein on the first try, step out of the chair. Then, clench your fist and (especially) your upper arm, extend and draw up your lower arm (not too fast while you’re clenching your bicep and tricep) 10-15 times. The blood flow will increase, and he/she will be able to find the vein much more easily.
